The Role and You

Reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller the role will expose you to the inner workings of the wider finance team both locally and internationally and will be your opportunity to make real change. You won’t just be writing reports that will be half implemented – you will be empowered to drive these changes home.

The finance team at WiseTech aims to strike the appropriate balance to deliver effective financial control whilst allowing the business to be agile and grow. We see this role a key step in that journey.

You are a highly organized and methodical thinker, you are comfortable prioritising and managing multiple deliverables. You are also proficient in identifying, establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals on a global scale.

Key Accountabilities

  • Standardisation of the global capitalised development cost process for month end reporting
  • Ensure the accuracy and compliance of global capitalised development cost accounting including timely delivery of month-end reporting, delivery of accounting papers on intangible assets such as assessment / review of useful life, commercialisation of new products etc, ensuring integrity of time recording data
  • Provide regular project reporting of capitalised development costs across the group globally which involves owning, developing and maintaining strong relationships with product and development teams
  • Own the annual intangible asset impairment process
  • Provide technical accounting support on an ad-hoc basis including writing of technical accounting memos delivered to the CFO / Audit Committee / external auditors, review of new contracts for accounting issues etc

Your Experience

  • Professional Accountant with appropriate qualification (Chartered Accountant, CPA or similar) would be highly desirable
  • Big 4 accounting firm background preferred (Assistant Manager or equivalent experience)
  • 3-4 years post qualification experience
  • Previous experience in an IT or Software Company would be highly desirable
  • Understanding of basic SQL is desirable
  • Worked in renowned multinational companies
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge under IFRS and AASB
  • Strong project and time management skills to deliver results to deadlines
