As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration of WiseTech’s firewalls, VPN’s and network devices. You will also contribute to improving WTGs overall network security.
Role responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network solutions, including next generation firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems and security monitoring tools.
- Configure, manage, and maintain firewalls (Palo Alto / Cisco) to safeguard the organization’s network against unauthorized access and potential threats.
- Identify weaknesses in the network infrastructure and recommend necessary actions for improvement.
- Respond promptly to network security incidents, analyze root causes, and work to prevent future incidents through continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Adhere to network security policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Collaborate with other IT Teams, development teams and other stakeholders to integrate security solutions into the network architecture and workflows.
- Use network security tools to monitor network traffic, detect potential vulnerabilities, and generate reports for security metrics and analysis.
- Create documentation on Standard Operating Procedures and Security best practices.
Who you are:
Curious about software-defined networking? Experienced with open-source technologies? If you tick most of the following boxes, you should get in touch:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience hands on experience with Firewalls such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco
- Deep understanding of security protocols (TCP/IP Stack), firewalls, VPNs and IDS/IPS and Network Security Principles
- Proficient in using security tools and platforms such as Wireshark and SIEM tools.
- Knowledge of Information Security Standards such as ISO 27001, NIST 800-53
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Industry certifications such as PCNSE, CCNP, CISSP or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable
- Familiarity with Automation and Infrastructure as a code is required
- Software Defined Networking (SDN) experience
