Information Security Lead – India At WiseTech Global, our technology powers the supply chains of the world. From the largest freight forwarders to thousands of logistics companies across 180+ countries, our systems keep trade moving. Protecting them requires leaders who combine technical depth with the ability to guide teams through complex challenges. We are seeking an Information Security Lead in India - a technical leader who leads by example, driving improvements and setting the standard for others to follow. This is a role for someone who thrives on solving difficult problems, working hands-on with complex environments, and gradually building and guiding a team to new levels of maturity.
The Opportunity You’ll initially support our newly acquired E2open business, before integrating into WiseTech’s broader global security function. Your task is to lead the uplift of the Security posture, interfacing directly with our Global leadership team in Sydney HQ and directly applying your expertise while guiding others along the way. This is not a purely managerial position. In the early stages, you’ll spend at least a quarter of your time hands-on, actively working on vulnerabilities, monitoring, and controls. Over time, as processes mature and capability grows, you’ll assume direct responsibility for a team of 10-15 people across Security Operations, Vulnerability Management and Security Engineering.
What You’ll Do - Lead by example in uplifting security operations and vulnerability management standards. - Investigate and remediate critical vulnerabilities, legacy systems, and unsupported platforms. - Implement and embed application security controls within development and operations. - Strengthen monitoring, detection, and response processes in partnership with global teams. - Mentor and guide team members, helping to raise capability and establish best practice. - Work closely with leaders in Sydney, the US, and globally to align India’s security function with WiseTech’s global standards.
About You - Strong technical background in SOC operations and vulnerability management, with hands-on experience using tools such as Tenable, Rapid7, Crowdstrike, Carbon Black, Defender ATP, or Wazuh (similar experience welcome). - Proven ability to lead by example - you’ve delivered improvements, guided colleagues, and been the person others turn to for direction. - Comfortable balancing technical contribution with gradually increasing leadership responsibilities. - A track record of taking initiative and driving change, not simply maintaining existing processes. - Genuine passion for cybersecurity and technology, demonstrated through professional experience, certifications (GIAC, CISSP, Security+), or continuous self-learning. - Excellent communication skills, able to bridge technical and business perspectives.
Why WiseTech This is a rare opportunity to build and mature a regional security function with global impact. You’ll have the chance to: - Apply your technical expertise to some of the most challenging security problems. - Shape and lead a growing team, moving from technical lead to trusted manager. - Operate at global scale, protecting technology that underpins world trade. - Work in an environment that values initiative, ownership, and continual learning. If you are ready to lead with both head and hands - guiding others while making your own technical impact - this is the role.
